So I did a stupid yesterday. Ran up and down two flights of stairs quite a lot. (Hurricane coming. Wanted all my crap off the basement floor.) Now my calf muscles hurt. Tylenol ain't working and I can't have ibuprofen due to other meds. I was wondering if there were any yoga exercises that might help. Preferably not down dog or anything else that involves me being head downward for any length of time, on account of I get dizzy. Or should I just stay sat and let my body deal with my stupid on its own time?

Try legs up the wall. You can bend your knees slightly if it is too intense or you can scoot your butt away from the wall a few inches. Once your muscles start to relax, you can play with flexing and pointing your feet to change the stretch. Be sure to breathe deeply and steadily. :D

I second legs up the wall. I do some time in that pose every day because my hamstrings are prone to being really tight: it helps prevent that kind of soreness in the first place.

If it really hurts, though, leave it for a day or two and then try again.

I'd suggest a hot bath with Epsom salts, too. :-)

Ice packs could be your friend. And if that isn't sufficient, ice for 10 minutes and then heat pack...back and forth until it feels better.

Not yoga, but there are some handy calf stretches at Exrx.net here.
