I have been doing yoga since I was in my teens. It was a long time ago...don't ask! I started with the basic Hatha style, drifting aimlessly into Ashtanga without realizing it, until I found Yin Yoga a few years ago. The style was both beautiful and challenging all at the same time. And it effortlessly incorporated the spiritual side of yoga, which I had previously been missing. I am not exclusive to one style of yoga and also practice Shakti, Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga (Power) and even, when pregnant, Kundalini yoga. Experimenting is fun!
For me, yoga is as much about stretching the spirit as it is stretching your limbs and I have been able to use my practice to ground me in times of stress and disorder. I am a big fan of Susan Powers, Paul Grilley, Shiva Rea and Natasha Rizopoulos, each for different reasons. I am looking forward to talking yoga with all of you; there is always something to be learned from others!
Om Shanti
